You do not have to own land to join the Rhode Island Forest Conservator's Organization,
although many RIFCO members are forest landowners. Our membership is comprised of people dedicated to the protection and wise use of Rhode Island's woodland resources.
There are numerous benefits to joining Rhode Island Forest Conservators Organization.
RIFCO Members and Tree Farmers
at one of RIFCO's programs.
RIFCO Members gladly tromp
through forests to teach and learn.
As a member, you will have the opportunity to join together with other landowners,
natural resource professionals, concerned citizens, land trusts, and industry representatives to exchange ideas, receive technical advice, and help promote action on vital conservation issues.
Publications & Workshops
You will receive our quarterly newsletter and a free copy of the "RI Forestry Best
Management Practices Manual." And you will be invited to attend meetings and workshops dealing with the current issues in woodlot, shadetree, and wildlife management [see our Calendar page for upcoming programs].
The RIFCO Outreach Coordinator s available for telephone and on-site assistance with
woodlot management advice. Often the issues can be addressed over the phone and through the mail, or with referrals to other resources. There are times when your
questions or your situation is best addressed in person, with a visit to your woodlot to provide an assessment.
Your membership will also entitle you to access the cooperative efforts of other
landowners, and to post any forestry-related services you might offer or require on this web site [see our Services page].
